Our Winter Poems

Primary 5 have been busy writing poems again. They have a Winter theme. Here’s what we did to help us write them:

  • We thought of somethings that we see, hear and smell in Winter.

  • We wrote these three nouns down, then placed two adjectives in front of each noun

  • For the last line of our poems, we wrote down three adjectives to describe how Winter made us feel.

When the poems were finished, we added them to a template in Microsoft Publisher and then saved them as JPeg files before uploading them to Windows Movie Maker.

Here they are below. Let us know what you think of them!

Our Winter Poems

Winter Poem by JaymieIn class, we thought it would be a nice idea to use our grammar lesson to help us write Winter Poems. Here’s what we did:

  • We thought up one thing that we see, hear and smell in winter (nouns)

  • Next, we added two ‘WoW’  words (adjectives) to describe them

  • Finally, we thought up three words to describe our feelings about winter

  • We went along to the computer room and wrote our poems in a Microsoft Publisher template

  • We decorated a big ‘W’ with clipart at the start of the poem

  • We saved the publisher documents as jpegs

  • We uploaded the jpegs to Windows Movie Maker and added some nice Christmas music

Have a look! What do you think?

Happy Holidays Everyone!

This is our last week at school before our Christmas break. We wrote some Winter Poems to help decorate our school hall.

First, we thought of three nouns to do with Winter – one thing that you see, one thing that you hear and one thing that you smell. We then wrote two adjectives to describe each noun.

For the last line of the poem we wrote about how all these things made us feel. Finally, we decorated the big letter ‘W’ with some winter clipart.

Here are our poems. Leave us a comment to let us know what you think of them 🙂
