Our Twitter Chat with Australia!

Australia book   In 2007 Mrs P, a teacher in Australia, sent a copy of this book to Mrs V and her class. This term we’ve been using it for our book study. It’s about an Australian family who go on a three month caravan tour of their home country.

We’re really enjoying the book, but we had some questions about Australia and what it might be like to live there.

Mrs V suggested that we could ask Mrs P some of the questions on twitter

On Tuesday, Mrs V logged in to our twitter account and we began asking our questions.

We were all astonished when we realised that Mrs P was on twitter at the same time as we were, and she began to answer our questions as we asked them!

Later, we looked at all the conversations we’d had on twitter and we decided to make a classroom display so that we could share what we’d learned.

We’ve also turned our question and answer twitter conversation into a short movie so that we can share what happened here on our blog. We even added some Aboriginal didgeridoo music to entertain you while you read through the conversations we had.

Have a look below and please leave a comment to let us know what you think 🙂

All About Our Friends!

We have made a movie about some of our friends in class.

Here’s what we did to make the movie:

  1. We chose a friend to interview and wrote down one or two sentences about them

  2. We added what we had found out about them to a PowerPoint slide

  3. We inserted their weemee onto the slide

  4. We saved the Powerpoint slides as jpegs

  5. In class, Mrs V collected all the jpegs and showed us how to add them to Windows Movie Maker

  6. We made the movie and it’s on here for you to look at (some of us are not on here, but we’ll appear in next week’s movie version!)

Neive’s Bio Poem

Neive has now recorded her Bio Poem and made her Voki.

Sam is on holiday, but keep an eye out for his appearing on here soon!

Four More Bio Poems!

welcome blog 2    We’ve now published 22 of our Bio Poems (only 2 more to go!) and we’ve had a lot of fun sharing them with the world.

We’d love to know what you think about them!
