Hello World!

Primary 3 at Carronshore would like to welcome you to their new blog! We are going to tell you about all the great things we get up to in our classroom.

We are going to start by telling you a bit about ourselves through our ‘Bio Poems’. Here’s the first few. Have a listen and let us know what you think by leaving a comment!

Fairwell!!!

Hello world, I am afraid this is our last post in Primary 5V 🙁

Before we say goodbye we would like to tell you about when we were presenting our movie at assembly. We made a Power point and showed the P1 and P2 movies. The other classes hadn’t finished their projects. After we showed the P1 and P2 movies we told the school a little bit about how we made our movie. We drew pictures of an aeroplane crashing, an aeroplane in the sky and a broken aeroplane. After we drew the pictures we put them in Windows Movie Maker. We added voices, we also made puppets in art to show in the movie. We put it all together and there was our movie. We showed the movie and that was us finished. Here is the finished movie:

We also had to say goodbye to Stuart. We threw a great surprise party for him leaving. We will really miss him. We hope he has a fabulous time at his new school!!!

Well now we guess it’s time to say goodbye. Look out for Mrs. V and her new class P3B/V and our new class P6S.

Have a great summer!!!

Scottish Wars of Independence

Primary 5V have been learning about the Scottish Wars of Independence and last week Clanranald came to tell us more about life during that time.

After the visit, everyone jotted down some notes about what they had learned. We’ve added some of these orally to the pictures we took on the day.

Have a look/listen and let us know what you think.

Our Class Poem – ‘If Only…….’

Last week we watched a video about how to write an ‘If Only…’ poem and we decided to try to write our own one with the same title. We chose whether we wanted to work with a partner or work on our own, and we brainstormed our ‘if only….’ ideas.

We made a PowerPoint slide to illustrate each idea. We also recorded our verses and then put them all together in Windows Movie Maker to make one big ‘If Only….’ class poem.

We’ve got some more ideas about more ‘If Only…..’ poems – but meanwhile have a look/listen below at our first attempt and please leave a comment to let us know what you think.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

This is our last week at school before our Christmas break. We wrote some Winter Poems to help decorate our school hall.

First, we thought of three nouns to do with Winter – one thing that you see, one thing that you hear and one thing that you smell. We then wrote two adjectives to describe each noun.

For the last line of the poem we wrote about how all these things made us feel. Finally, we decorated the big letter ‘W’ with some winter clipart.

Here are our poems. Leave us a comment to let us know what you think of them 🙂
