Our National Poetry Day Friendship Cinquains

On Thursday it was National Poetry Day  and we had a whole school assembly so that all the classes could share the poems that they had written.

The theme was ‘Stars’ and Primary 5V decided to write Friendship Cinquains .

We interviewed a good friend and asked them to describe themselves then we wrote poems.

We wrote them again onto a Powerpoint slide then saved them as a jpeg.

After that we put them all into Photostory 3 then we all voted what music we should use. We got the music from this site.

we’re going to put them on to our own ePortfolios

On Friday we showed them on the big screen to the rest of the school.

We thought they looked great!

Leave us a comment if you like our poems!

  1. Hello P5V,
How very clever of you to make such lovely poems and share them for the school assembly.
It sounds like Mrs Vass has a lovely group of students – kind, honest, can keep secrets, happy, funny and kind to each other as well 🙂
You all sound as if you like doing sports and physical activities as well as playing games – a good mix I think.
Your poems are presented beautifully – great designs and lovely colours!
    Thanks for sharing your work!

  2. Hello P5V,
I enjoyed seeing your cinquains. They speak of creativity, fun, friendship and sharing. What better way to share with the world than writing about positive things in life?
I was able to visit some of your class ePortfolios and leave comments on cinquains I found. It made me feel like writing a cinquain about something important in my life…

    Comments
    Detailed, helpful
    Writing, smiling, learning
    Making a difference sharing
    Blogging

This cinquain uses both the traditional 2, 4, 6, 8, 2 syllables and the modern noun, 2 adjectives, 3 verbs, 4 word sentence and 1 word referring back to the first. Writing is fun and I enjoy a challenge. 🙂
