We had an unusual day last Friday …. we planned a great surprise party to say goodbye to Mrs Paton. She didn’t suspect a thing! It didn’t seem like school at all because we were allowed to bring clothes to change in to and lots of people brought ‘goodies’ to share!
It might have started off like a normal school day - but it ended up very differently!
Mrs Paton made up a story starter and the pupils were asked to continue it in the same style. Some of them added them to their wiki pages. Bethany illustrated hers and then recorded her version of the story orally. You can watch her ‘movie version’ below. There’s a slight pause between the first and second picture ….. please be patient while the story continues
Every year at this time, the primary 7 pupils deliver groceries to the elderly people in our community. Today the weather was not good, but there was a smile on everyone’s face …. the givers and the receivers!
Bethany and her ‘wiki friends’ are the first in the class to have come up with the idea of writing a shared story.
It was a great idea and it was lovely to see them present their shared story at our recent ’Parent Blogging Evening’. I was very impressed that they had even added a colour code to show who had written which part of the story!
You can read the story by clicking on Bethany’s ‘WeeMee’ below.
Meanwhile, Mrs Paton thought of a great story starter and wrote a few opening sentences. She asked the class to continue it. P7V loved planning what might happen next and today some of them shared their ideas on their wikis.
Mrs Paton has been with us for a few weeks now … she’s been great and we wish her well in her new teaching career.
You can read Monica’s version of how the story might continue by clicking on her ‘WeeMee’ below.
Thank you to all the mums and dads ….. (and grans and grandads, and brothers and sisters, and aunties and uncles!!!) for coming to our ‘Blogging Evening’!
…. But most of all THANK YOU to Primary 7 …. You were all ‘mega stars’ and you made the whole event great - I was so proud of everyone of you!
