On Tuesday evening, we’re having a presentation and workshop evening in school so that the parents (and other family members) of the P7 pupils can learn more about how we use our Blogs and Wikis.
To help us prepare for this, we invited some members of Falkirk Council who are involved in working with parents to come to school and we asked them to tell us a bit about what they do.
Listen to the Vokis below to find out who they are and what their jobs involve!
We wanted to find out more about why it’s important to involve parents in our learning. You can listen to our podcast below …
BUT ….. can you please click on their name link and not the little icon (it just doesn’t seem to work)
Please be patient while it loads ….. because we think it’s worth the wait!

Hello P7!
Thank you for your interesting questions about Parental Involvement and for asking me, Anne and Beverley along to your school to answer your questions.
It was fun to learn about your blog and wiki and I like the surprise you planned for us by creating a voki!
I’m looking forward to seeing you agin on Tuesday when you show parents all your work.
Thanks
Diane
The kids here at Dingwall thought your Vokis were cool – I thought I would impress them and make my own and post ‘me’ giving them a message on their blogs ! I have made my Voki and copied and pasted the code into the post but I only get a message saying ‘Get your own Voki’ Did you have any problems – any suggestions??

I think this is a nice way to present an interview. It would help people who might be a little shy to be filmed. Good luck with your presentation.

Thank you Dianne – it very nice of you all to take the time to come to school and talk to us. It was a great help!
Thanks, Loirston!
Hi Dingwall – yes I had loads of problems, but finally cracked it!
Here’s the code I used
kml_flashembed movie=”http://vhss-a.oddcast.com/voki/voki_player.swf?doc=http%3A%2F%2Fvhss-d.oddcast.com%2Fphp%2Fvoki%2Fgetvoki%2Fchsm%3D5e659f34fb78eff205e90f47b15b66d4%26sc%3D55789″ width=”200″ height=”267″ wmode=”transparent” /
But – you need to put square brackets around it. Good luck!
