We are learning about what life was like during World War 2. We are going to make Anderson Shelters. Miss Goodsir and Mrs Vass asked us to choose our equipment and we will make them next week. Miss Goodsir has been saving up ‘junk’ material for us to use!
We tried to find an Anderson Shelter near our school, but there doesn’t seem to be any. If anyone knows of one locally, it would be great if you could leave a comment!

I know where there’s one in Haddington, East Lothian - but I suppose that’s not really near enough to visit. Would it help if I could take some photos?

I have uploaded some photos of the shelter to a Flickr set here.
These were taken when my daughter, who’s in the photos, was studying the Blitz at primary. She’s now in S4. At that time our first digital camera wasn’t very good - but hopefully these are good enough to help.
I’ve added some comments to the photos too.
